Question by supermartianrobotgirl: Sex talk tips for having a "sit down" with my 10 yr old.......?

We talk about everything in a very relaxed you can talk to me about anything type environment all the time, but it is now time for one of the sit down type sexuality, puberty, body type talks.

I need some tips from other parents, book recommendations, website recommendations, anything you think might help an alternative family have the sex talk.

The most important thing is to be honest, and to try not to seem uncomfortable. You want your child to know that sex and puberty are very natural things, and if you're very uncomfortable your child will pick up on that.

Tell your child that what he or she is feeling is natural and that you will always be there to answer questions or talk about it when needed.
